Here I want to tell a story of one of our trips we regularly do to discover new routes and roads. It could be just an ordinary one… but it turned to a sequence of many unusual occasions. We left Bucharest in the morning to explore and verify some routes for upcoming trips. Our plan was to take a beautiful road towards Siriu Mountains through a dense forest instead of boring asphalt driving. I need to mention that the previous week has been very rainy in Romania. We met a lot of consequences like damaged roads, landslides, fallen trees. We had to double check water level in every river we crossed. Up, down, slalom between fallen rocks… and a bonfire! Definitely, this is a sign to take a break and roast some sausages. Would you skip a chance if somebody has already collected wood and made a fire instead of doing the same later yourself? Well fed and refreshed we go on crossing into Szekely Mountains region. It is a truly rural land, full of wildlife. That’s why we love it and it rewarded us twice with beautiful stags right in the middle of the road. Pictures? Sorry, next time. The photographer is a slowcoach today, missed them both…
